D5 seeking board member
Spartanburg District Five Schools is currently seeking to fill a vacancy on its Board of Trustees, a nine member board that provides vision and leadership, while overseeing policy and financial decisions, and monitoring the operations of the school district.

Woodland Elementary Jr. Beta Club is holding a food and supply drive for Daily Bread Ministries (Greer Soup Kitchen).
Donations of canned food, boxed food, paper supplies, and cleaning supplies can be dropped off at the school.
RHS to present ‘Yuletide Voices’
The Riverside High School Speech & Debate team will present an old-fashioned, live radio (off-air!) production featuring an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and other tales of the season on Saturday, Dec. 10, 3 p.m.
Area students win Wingate piano competition
Zhanshuo Zhang, of Greer, and Lindsay Byrd, of Waxhaw, walked away from Wingate University’s sixth annual Piano Competition with the opportunity to redeem $21,000-per-year music scholarships recently.
The event included 12 high school competitors and nine middle schoolers.
NGU President Fant recognized for five years
From a dinner with trustees to a student tailgate, celebrations across the North Greenville University community honored NGU President Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr., and First Lady Lisa Fant in September for their five years of leadership.
