GSSM accepting applications for residential, STEM programs
The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science + Mathematics (GSSM) is now accepting applications for its residential, virtual, and STEM Foundations programs. Online applications are available at www.scgssm.org.

pageant is Jan. 26,27
The Riverside High Miss Sakamow Pageant 2022 will be held Jan. 26 and 27, 7 p.m., in the school auditorium.
Freshmen and sophomores will compete on Wednesday. Juniors and seniors will compete on Thursday.
DHEC updates school employee guidelines
DHEC has updated the quarantine guidelines for school teachers and staff. With these new guidelines, Greenville County Schools employees who have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and who have no symptoms are allowed to work during quarantine, regardless of vaccination status, during crisis staffing conditions.
Swamp Rabbits to honor good grades
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will congratulate students in grades 2-12 for their hard work this school year with Report Card Day.
EHS, GMS named to SC-SIC Honor Roll
The School Improvement Councils for Eastside High School and Greer Middle School have been named to the SC School Improvement Council’s 2022 Honor Roll for their significant efforts to foster civic engagement in public education. The two schools are among seven public schools in South Carolina to earn a spot on this distinguished list.

wins national contest
Ann Salway’s third grade class from Abner Creek Academy won the grand prize during the national SpringBoard math competition in June.
With the final results just announced, Salway’s third graders remained among the top ten classes in the country throughout the 10-week competition.
