Mountain View students to perform musical, Annie
Students at Mountain View Elementary School have been rehearsing for four evening performances of the musical, Annie.
Full dress rehearsals took place last week to prepare for the debut on Saturday, March 30, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria with three more performances set for Thursday through Saturday, April 4-6.
Peace poster winner
Blue Ridge Lions Club president Hope Barbare presented Blue Ridge Middle eighth grader Kenna Bunnell with a third place ribbon for her entry into the Peace Poster Contest. This year’s theme was ‘kindness matters.’ Bunnell is a three-time club level winner and this year placed third in the district 32S contest.

Teacher Recruitment Fair is set for March 29
The Expo, a one-day teacher job fair sponsored by the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA), will be held on Friday, March 29, at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia.
Best in the band
Six Blue Ridge Middle students were selected for the 2019 Greenville All-County Band. They participated in a clinic at Riverside High with over 100 of the best middle school musicians in the county.

South Carolina students are invited to enter the 2019 Project Sentry Logo / Meme Contest. This year’s theme is “Preventing Gun Violence in Our Schools: Know the Signs.”

Greenville County Schools will be in session for students on Friday, March 22; Monday, March 25; and Monday, April 22 to make up days missed this school year due to inclement weather.
NGU theatre student places at Theatre Festival
North Greenville University student Evan Hamlin, of Greer, won second place along with the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas (SILV) Award for Excellence in Technology and Design: Don Childs Award at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) region IV festival 51 for his original sound designs.

Junior League writing contest taking entries
The Junior League of Greenville (JLG) is now accepting entries for its seventh annual Young Women’s Writing Contest. The contest is open to all female students in Greenville County public, private and home school programs in grades 6 through 12.
