A new bill was signed into law recently which grants paid parental leave for school district employees. The bill, signed by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster requires school districts to provide up to six weeks of maternity leave and two weeks of paternal leave for employees due to the birth, adoption, or fostering of a child.

Emerging Teacher
MacKenzie Stewart, a third-grade teacher at Skyland Elementary, was named the Elementary Level Emerging Teacher of the Year at a recent ceremony celebrating the Greenville County Schools Teacher of the Year.
