The Middle Tyger Community Center (MTCC) announced today a $2,500 grant from Wells Fargo to support family literacy programs.

MTCC’s programs focus on improving the health, education and financial stability of individuals in the community. Programs include Adult Education (GED, adult literacy, and English for Speakers of Other Languages), early childhood education, a free health clinic, a family counseling center, a food pantry and crisis intervention, and comprehensive programs for pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children.  MTCC is a valuable asset for the community and plays a leading role in improving quality of life for children and families.

“Wells Fargo is committed to the communities we serve and is delighted to support the Middle Tyger Community Center,” said Wells Fargo Upstate Area President Justin Hawkins. “We are known as America’s Community Bank, and supporting programs that improve the health, education and financial stability for people is a mission Wells Fargo has always believed is important.” The Wells Fargo Foundation focuses its grant-making on organizations engaged in community development and education, making it a perfect fit to support MTCC as it offers wraparound services to help families break the cycle of generational poverty. In 2014, Wells Fargo invested $3.4 million to local nonprofit organizations and schools in South Carolina.
