Library system celebrates sign-up month
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the Greenville County Library System is celebrating by sharing information about the many library offerings available with a library card.
Signing up for a library card is free to Greenville County residents.

That’s become easier over the last couple decades as manufacturers have recognized the growing number of consumers on gluten-free diets. However, the Celiac Disease Foundation® notes that various foods may contain gluten in hidden or unexpected ways.

Match of Musicians Fest
set for Sept. 3
A Match of Musicians Fest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at Joes Lake in Greer.
The event to benefit the Red Bandanna Project will feature family fun, vendors, and music.
Joes Lake is located at 155 Lake Place in Greer.
Just Say Something sets Red Ribbon 5K
Just Say Something is registering for its 6th annual Red Ribbon 5K to be held at Sugar Creek on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m.
The adult race begins at 4 p.m. followed by a Kids’ Fun Run at 5 p.m.
The pet-friendly family event will feature food trucks and music.
Grants available for recreational trail upkeep
The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (SCPRT) is now accepting letters of intent from eligible entities for the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant.

at Greer Idol on Saturday
The final four Greer Idol and Greer Idol Jr. contestants will compete during Tunes In The Park on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Greer City Park.
Greer Idol Jr. performances will begin at 6:45 p.m. with voting from 7:15-7:45 p.m.
