After over a year of surveys and community interviews, Greenville Little Theatre Board of Directors has voted unanimously to change its name to Greenville Theatre.
Greenville Theatre will transition for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season with full rebranding completed for the 2019-2020 season opening.
Furman University has named an alternate clinician for its 2019 Church Music Conference to be held Thursday, Jan. 24, and Friday, Jan. 25. The featured clinician for the event is one the nation’s outstanding church musicians, Bruce Neswick, director of music and organist at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Portland, Oregon.
A prize-winning sculpture will be a permanent fixture at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Atlanta-based artist Scott Strader has gifted his work “Tear of Illian” to the university, his second contribution to USC Upstate following his gift this past year of the aluminum “Annulus” sculpture.
West Main Artists Co-op in Spartanburg will host the art exhibition “New Creations” Jan. 2-Feb. 2 to showcase the creative work of its seven newest members. It will be open and free for public viewing Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Ballet Spartanburg has received a 2018 South Carolina Humanities Grant entitled “African Dance Community Outreach Dance Class” for the Spartanburg community and beyond.
