The Corps of Cadets at Blue Ridge High, a 124-member band,  has been stringing together 12-hour day practices, learning and rehearsing music it will perform this year. The band lost nearly 18 hours of outdoor practice this summer due to poor weather conditions.

Corps of Cadets hopes to keep improving

Though school has just begun, Blue Ridge band members have been spending time at school for weeks getting ready for the upcoming season.

The goal this year is the same as it is every year, said Brian T. Grant, band director: To do better than previous year.

“Our goal, just like every, is to keep improving,” Grant said.
