Cancer is a subject that hits close to home for Taylors resident Tina Evans-Martin.

Having a mom with breast cancer and a dad with colon cancer, Evans-Martin had her own scare with the disease more than a decade ago.

“It’s prone that I would get it,” she said. “It was God. God is who healed me.”
