The Greer High marching band is hoping to keep crowds entertained with a mix of classical tunes and popular hits this fall, as “Heaven’s Journey: The Pursuit of Happiness” takes center stage.

The city’s parks and recreation department introduced Pickleball, a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, last May, and Athletics Supervisor Justin Miller said interest has been growing.

Martha Wallace, born and raised in Greer, became one of Greer’s first dispatchers when the current fire department building was constructed.
“I came with the building,” said Wallace, laughing as she finished speaking.
