Sumter and Florence West, of Marion, North Carolina, celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on May 22 with a gathering at their home, hosted by their three sons.
The couple was wed in Greer on May 22, 1943.

Maternal grandparents are Ellen and David Miller, and Mike and Belinda Bryant. Paternal grandparents are David and Tammy Woods.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Badger, of Greenville, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a dinner celebration hosted by the couple’s three children at Greer Country Club on Aug. 4 at 6 p.m.
Rebecca McConnell, of Greer, became the bride of Jean-Pierre Wersinger, of Greenville, during a 1 p.m. ceremony on June 17, 2017. Their vows were repeated before Father Richard Tomlinson at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors.
Lorena Hightower Nelson celebrated her 100th birthday on July 11, 2017.
Her family held a party that had more than 75 people in attendance, including friends and family, many of whom were from out of town, some even from other states.
James W. Ford, a native of Greer, celebrated his 100th birthday on July 11 with a party at Southside Baptist Church with family and friends on July 8.
Ford is the father of Elliott Ford, of Greer, and Donna Greene, of Mustang, Oklahoma. He has three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
