As the City of Greer works to finalize a budget, funds are being set aside for emergencies.

The city will set aside part of its contingency fund for unplanned and unforeseen events in 2016, according to Mayor Rick Danner.

“The contingency fund has always been around,” Danner said. “The fund itself acts as our savings account.”
