South Carolina Ports Authority officials say the success of the Greer Inland Port has sparked plans for a new port in Dillon. The new facility, if constructed, would continue rail traffic to the Port of Charleston.

Citing the success of Greer’s Inland Port, the South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) announced plans for a second site, to be located in Dillon, last week.

Port officials say demand is growing and an additional Inland Port is needed to service the Port of Charleston.
