The City of Greer is seeking to conserve its larger emergency fire response vehicles by sending an SUV to rescue/EMS calls.

Last year, the city budgeted for part-time paramedics and EMTs in an effort to staff a Quick Response Vehicle (QRV), Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., during peak call times.

There’s a growing opioid crisis in Greenville County.

According to recent statistics released from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, there has been a 61 percent increase in opioid related overdoses from 2019 to 2021.
