Greer City Council approved with a 5-0 vote the First Reading of Ordinance Number 65-2022 to annex two parcels with a zoning of Design Review District (DRD) during last Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.
The Town of Duncan is purchasing trench rescue and shoring equipment, following a council decision on November 7.
Council approved the resolution to allow Fire Chief Barry Frost to purchase various trench rescue and shoring equipment at a base cost not to exceed $63,000, and to pay for the purchase using funds from general fund.

Volunteers at Joshua’s Way and Fairview Baptist Church are collecting Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts until November 21 for the Samaritan’s Purse project.
The annual Merle State Hunger Walk will take place Sunday, Nov. 20, 2 p.m., to raise money for the Greer Soup Kitchen.
The one-mile walk begins at Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street in Greer.
Mayor Rick Danner and Greer City Council declared November 17 as World Pancreatic Cancer Day in the City of Greer, during last week’s regular meeting.
Mayor Danner read the proclamation.
