Deacon Cornelius Davis, of Duncan, husband of Lydia Beachum Davis for over 58 years, son of the late McLaurin and Nettie Rice Davis, passed May 25, 2019 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
 
He was a Deacon at Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church, a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1956, a retired truck driver for Community Cash Groceries, and Prince Hall Masonic member of Robert Small Lodge # 133.
 
Surviving along with his wife are a son, Frederick Cornelius Davis of the home; grandchildren, Taurean Davis of Atlanta, Georgia and Porscha Davis of Boiling Springs; great-granddaughter, Gloria Maria Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; five sisters, Nettie Sue Davis-Millsap, Hattie (Richard) Davis, and Mary (Rev. J. B) Davis-Robinson, all of Spartanburg, Ella Ruth (John) Davis-Ferguson of Moore, and Rebecca (Lewis) Davis Jeter, of Albany, Georgia.
 
Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019, 2 p.m. at Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2019, 6-7 p.m. at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary.
