Douglas Gene Messer, 69, of Greer, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Oct. 19, 2014 at McCall Hospice House. Doug was born May 26, 1945, in Galax, Virginia and was the son of the late John A. and Winifred Nuckolls Messer.
