Virginia Gail Woodbury Campbell, 76, wife of Dr. Victor Clyde Campbell, passed away September 15, 2016 at her home.

A native of Decatur, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Julian Taliaferro Woodbury and Mary Virginia Moore Woodbury, a homemaker and member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.  She was the Valedictorian of the 1957 Class of Avondale High School, Avondale Estates, Georgia. Gail attended Mercer University where she was a member of the Phi-Mu Sorority.  She had volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Carolina Carriage Club, FENCE (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center), and was a self-taught medical transcriptionist.

Among her many faceted achievements over the course of her life not only did she maintain an extensive working farm tending to myriads of God’s creatures, but she did so in a fashion preserving the old ways of traditional country living.

Her life was an unwavering example of the way she believed would be pleasing to her Lord Jesus Christ.

Surviving  also are one daughter, Sherry Catherine Campbell of Jensen Beach, Florida; two sons, Travis Moore Campbell (Karen) of Asheville, North Carolina and Victor Matthew Campbell of Palm Beach, Florida; one brother, Julian Taliaferro Woodbury II (Brenda) of Candler, North Carolina; one sister, Barbara Jane Thornton (Micky) of Covington, Tennessee and six grandchildren, Andrew Jason (AJ) Arrowood, Jr., Jessica Brooke Henderson, Nathaniel Branton Campbell, Kaitlin Rose Campbell, Kenzie Alexis Campbell, and Rainey Victoria Campbell.

She was also predeceased by one brother, John Robert Woodbury and her stepmother, Helen Granade Woodbury.

A memorial service was held 6:30 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Delano McMinn.

Honorary Escort was the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Visitation was held 4:30 until 6:15 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.

The family is at the home.
