Margie Dianne Tinsley, 71, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

Margie was born on March 1, 1948, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the daughter of James E. and Fuller Mae (Pruitt) Biggs. She attended high school in Greer, South Carolina. On August 15, 1964, in Hartwell, Georgia, she was united in marriage to James L. Tinsley. The couple enjoyed 54 years of marriage and raised two children, Sherry and Jason. She worked at Hunter Packing House in East St. Louis, Illinois as well as Rubbermaid here locally. Her most recent employment was with S&Y Industries as a solder technician on electrical circuit boards. She had a green thumb and enjoyed growing plants and flowers.

Margie was member of Kansas Fast Draw Association, World Fast Draw Association, Cowboy Fast Draw Association, Missouri Raiders, Big Iron Shooting Club. She was a very awarded and accomplished Women’s World and State Champion. She was a record holder and received numerous 1st Place trophies for her talents. In addition to her fast draw gun skills; she also had a purple belt in Karate. She also enjoyed 80’s music and going to concerts with her daughter, Sherry. Margie will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Her family includes: her husband, James of the home; her daughter, Sherry King and husband Mark of Ponca City, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law, Letha Tinsley of Arkansas City; her brother, James S. Biggs of Greer, SC; her sister, Patricia Ann Henderson of Arkansas City; her sister-in-law, Barbara Kay Faughn of Florida; her brother-in-law; Larry A Tinsley of Collinsville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Hunter Scott King and wife Amy, Breanne Tinsley, Hanna Tinsley and Kahia Tinsley and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Tinsley, on February 5, 2019.

Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Online condolences may be sent to www.shelleyfamilyfh.com.
