Wirron Leonard, 87, passed away on July 2, 2018.  He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann Cobb Leonard.

 

A native of Reidville, he was a son of the late George L. Leonard, Sr., and Zobelia Johnson Leonard.  Wirron served in the USAF during the Korean conflict, serving 30 months in the Far East.  Mr. Leonard graduated from Wofford College in 1958, worked for the FDIC and spent the majority of his life in banking.  He was active in the community, serving on the Boards of Greer Community Ministries, Greer Relief, Kiwanis, Civitans, Greer Heritage Museum, the Greer Chamber of Commerce and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church as well as the Camak Sunday School Class.

 

Surviving are his two daughters, Rev. Susan Leonard, of Charleston, and Amy Leonard, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Ray; and one sister, June Leonard Cox, of Reidville.

 

Mr. Leonard was predeceased by two brothers, William D. Leonard and George Leonard, and one sister, Mora Leonard Snow.

 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Joe Cate and Rev. George Strait.  Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

 

Honorary escort will be the Camak Sunday School Class.

 

Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
