Firefighters and other emergency officials rescued two workers trapped at a construction site on Friday morning.

The two contract construction workers were trapped when the walls of a trench collapsed at 10 a.m. outside James F. Byrnes High School on East Main Street.

Emma Lyko, 13, of Greer died in an ATV accident on October 7.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office responded to Clark Avenue in reference to the incident.

Once on scene, it was determined that the driver of the ATV was pronounced dead on scene, and a passenger was transported to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The community got up close and personal with fire trucks and other vehicles of all sizes and purposes during the Slow Down, Move Over Touch A Truck safety awareness event on Saturday at Duncan Event Center.

K9 Officer Hampton Knapp is leaving the City of Greer to work with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division along with his German Shepherd, Ozzy.

Greer City Council unanimously approved the first and final reading of resolution number 17-2022 to sell and transfer K9 Ozzy to SLED for $6,000.

A man has been been charged following a quintuple homicide in Inman.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 7:45 p.m., to 280 Bobo Drive for a death call.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the Greer City Police responded on Tuesday, October 11, to the intersection of Concourse Way and Twin Magnolia Drive, according to a GCCO report.

A single vehicle collision is estimated to have occurred between midnight and 3 a.m.
