Over the last week or so, Christmas tree lots have been set up for the season. It’s the time of year when people are tying trees to their luggage racks or loading up the truck with a fresh Frasier Fir.
The City of Greer will accept individual and group entries for its annual Gingerbread House Competition through Saturday, Dec. 2.
Categories available include: Adult (individuals age 16 and older); Youth (individuals age 5-15); and Family/Group (any number of people, any age).
The Tigerville Christmas Parade will kick off the Christmas season on Saturday, Dec. 2, for the fourth year.
Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends and reflect on one’s blessings. In anticipation of the holiday, here are some interesting facts about the Thanksgiving celebration.
1. American Thanksgiving is largely modeled on a 17th century harvest feast shared by the English settlers and the Wampanoag tribe.
The common cold is appropriately named. According to the American Lung Association, adults get an average of two to four colds per year while children typically get between six and eight colds annually. Colds indeed seem an inevitable part of life, and that may be even more so during winter.
This holiday season, families and friends of all ages can experience an even brighter and more colorful Christmas as Magic of the Lights is debuting a new drive-through holiday light show at Hollywild Animal Preserve.
