I  recently had the pleasure of attending Riverside High’s resurrection of its service fair.

The school held the service fair for years, until they moved into its new building in 2006, student council adviser Dan Tollison told me.

This weekend, a good friend from college was in town from San Francisco for the first time in about a year.

For two and a half days, my friends and I had laughs, late nights and junk food. We all slept late and watched bad TV. It’s always fun to spend time with old friends, especially when one of them has moved across the country.

Country music icon Don Williams will be at the Peace Center in Greenville on Friday, Jan. 17. More information is available at peacecenter.org.

I recently had the pleasure of seeing “The Wizard of Oz” at the Peace Center Jan. 5. I’m sure you know the classic story as well as I do – Dorothy and Toto are transported to Oz from Kansas via tornado, where they befriend the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion in hopes of getting the miracles they need.
