Major changes could soon be on the way in Greer.

As part of a collaborative effort, The Partnership for Tomorrow, city officials and associates from Kimley-Horn consulting firm, presented the Greer Community Master Plan to residents last Thursday.

A new fire station, set to open its doors in October, is expected to bring shorter response times to rural areas of the Lyman community.

The Tyger River Fire Department broke ground on its third facility, located off Holly Springs Road, Monday afternoon.

Greer residents should not expect a tax increase soon, following a first look at the proposed 2015-2016 fiscal year city budget.
