If more money were the answer to the state’s infrastructure woes, the topic would hardly be worth debating. The real trouble with South Carolina’s roads, though, isn’t a lack of money. It’s a lack – indeed, a total lack – of citizen control or influence on road funding. How do we know more money won’t produce better roads?

I had the honor of attending the MLK event at Greer City Hall on Monday, and it left an impression. The singers gave riveting performances that moved everyone in the room.
There are few who are comprised of a fabric so resilient they are able to selflessly impact the world on such a grand scale as Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa. Nelson Mandela was among these rare individuals.
